Our History

About ForMotion Clinic

ForMotion Clinic began its journey in 1998, originally known as APC Prosthetics. Founded by a small team of passionate clinicians with a shared vision, the goal was simple, to provide people with limb loss the best possible care, combining advanced technology with genuine compassion.

In early 2000, APC Prosthetics became the appointed prosthetic partner to the Australian Paralympic Team. Following Australia’s medal leading tally at the 2000 Paralympic games, APC has continued its partnership with the Australian Paralympic committee and has continued to contribute to the success of the Australian Paralympic team.
As the number of clients grew, so did the need for purpose-built facilities. In 2004, our Northmead clinic moved into a new space beside Westmead Hospital, designed to bring innovation and care under one roof. Over time, we expanded across New South Wales — opening clinics in Newcastle, the Central Coast, and Alexandria, making quality prosthetic care more accessible to communities across the state.

In 2024, we introduced Upper X Clinic in Alexandria, a dedicated upper-limb prosthetic centre, purpose-designed to meet the unique needs of upper-limb users through advanced technology, rehabilitation, and personal support.

On 1 November 2025, APC Prosthetics proudly transitions to ForMotion Clinic, joining a global network of orthotic and prosthetic clinics united by one shared purpose, to help people move forward with confidence. While our name has changed, our people, our clinics, and our commitment remain the same. Our story continues, shaped by innovation, care, and the belief that every step forward creates motion for life.
