Our History

About APC Prosthetics

The APC Prosthetics Group began in May 1998 as a partnership of four founding members, with over 100 years of combined clinical experience. Our philosophy has always been to achieve the best outcome for every client, incorporating the best possible comfort, the best possible function and the best possible lifestyle.

In early 2000, APC became the appointed prosthetic partner to the Australian Paralympic Team. Following Australia’s medal leading tally at the 2000 Paralympic games, APC Prosthetics has continued its partnership with the Australian Paralympic committee and has continued to contribute to the success of the Australian Paralympic team.
Originally established in Northmead, we had a dream of building the perfect building and creating the optimal environment for the treatment of our clients. In 2003, plans were made to relocate to our purpose-built premise directly adjacent to Westmead Hospital. This remains our Northmead Clinic today.

The state-of-the-art facility was completed in 2004 and officially opened by the then NSW Minister for Health and former Premier of NSW, the RT honourable Morris Iemma on August 19th, 2004. The building is named “Muenger House” in memory of Erwin Muenger, one of the founding partners.

In 2007, the APC Prosthetics Hunter Clinic was established in Newcastle. A highly experienced and capable team led by Ron Wright and Ian Robertson built the foundations of APC’s Newcastle and Hunter regional presence.
