APC has been providing prosthetics for kids with limb difference and amputation for many years. We are involved in the Limb Clinics at Westmead Children’s Hospital and Sydney Children’s Hospital in Randwick, working closely with rehabilitation teams to achieve the best outcomes for your child. No matter where you are based in NSW – whether in Sydney, the surrounding suburbs or regional and rural areas – our goal is to make accessing prosthetic care as convenient as possible. All our clinics are equipped to see children, and we also offer outreach clinics, so you don’t have to travel far.
Working with the paediatric population is so special because each child is incredibly unique and has their own needs and goals. Here at APC, we are passionate about helping children and their families turn those dreams into reality. Whether your child needs prosthetic arm to ride a bike or prosthetic leg for running and sports or help with daily tasks like dressing or eating, we’ll work with you to provide the most appropriate and effective solution for your child.
We understand that your child’s needs will evolve as they grow, explore new activities, and tackle new challenges. Our team is here to support them through every step of this Journey. From starting school to trying new sports, we’ll work closely with your family to ensure the prosthetic care we provide match their changing needs and goals.
At APC Prosthetics, we are not just about prosthetics – we are about empowering kids to embrace their unique abilities and achieve their dreams.
Funding a prosthetic limb for your child with NDIS
Most children with limb difference are eligible for NDIS funding. If you’re unsure whether your child is eligible, speak with one of our prosthetists, or check out the eligibility criteria on the NDIS website.
We’ve been working closely with the NDIS since its rollout in New South Wales, so we have a deep understanding of how to help your child access the prosthetic services they need. For more information on funding please click below.
We provide a wide range of prosthetics tailored to meet the unique needs of children including upper-limb prosthetics (prosthetic arms), lower-limb prosthetics (prosthetic legs) and custom prosthetics for other special needs.
We take our time to understand your child’s individual needs, goals and lifestyle. Our prosthetists work closely with families and rehabilitation teams to create prosthetics that are both functional and comfortable, supporting your child through every stage of growth and activity.

Children can start wearing prosthetics as early as a few months old, depending on their individual needs and development.
Our Prosthetist work closely with families and healthcare teams to determine the right time to introduce a prosthetic, ensuring it supports your child’s growth and lifestyle.
As your child grows and their needs evolve, their prosthetic will need adjustments or replacements. This typically happens every 6 months to 1 year, but it can vary depending on activity levels, growth spurts and wear and tear.
